Special Olympics 2023 Softball Skills

Athletes ages 8 and up who are interested in learning and competing in softball skills (batting, fielding, running bases, and throwing) may sign up for Special Olympics Softball Skills. Josie Markus will be the Head Coach for this sport.

Informational Zoom meeting for everyone interested in competing or coaching, or needs more info: Monday, May 1st at 7:00pm. 

Registration closes May 10th for a maximum of 12 athletes. Returning athletes from the 2022 season will go on the roster first. If more than 12 athletes register, then a waiting list will be created. The fee for the entire season is $20.

Practice: Wednesday evenings 6:45-7:45 starting May 31st at Lion's Park 8865 McEvilly Rd Minooka

Competitions: Regional - Sunday, Aug 6th at Joliet Park District. State, for those who advance, Sept 9-10 in Springfield.

Transportation to practices is the athlete's responsibility. The SC buses can be used for competitions.

Paperwork and fees are due by May 24th. After registering, I will send the paperwork I need from you. Medical forms for athletes and Class A registrations for coaches must be valid through 9/10/23. I will look up your expiration date(s). MEDICALS AND CLASS A REGISTRATIONS ARE DUE BY 6/21/23 OR YOU CANNOT COMPETE OR COACH. *There is no fee for coaching.
